It all began in 1994, when Guillermo Amador Sr. transitioned from a successful enlistment in the U.S. Army to private security. Starting as a Lobby Ambassador at a 52-story high-rise in Downtown Los Angeles, he quickly learned the power of professionalism, visibility, and presence in shaping the tenant experience.
Over the next 18 years, Amador earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, rose through the ranks of one of the world’s largest corporate security firms, and mastered the complexities of large-scale operations. His focus on relationship-driven service—what he defines as partnership-based security—set him apart early in his career.

When Amador joined a struggling, family-owned firm as Executive Vice President, he found a company without vision or structure. Over seven years, he rebuilt its operational foundation, culture, and brand identity—transforming it into one of the most respected regional firms in the state.
In 2020, he took on a new challenge as co-owner of another security company in financial decline. Guided by integrity, commitment, and innovation, Amador implemented a model centered on customized security solutions tailored to each client’s needs—laying the groundwork for what would become CGSS.
In March 2023, the company was rebranded as CGSS, marking the realization of Amador’s long-held vision: a modern, owner-operated firm that provides responsiveness, accountability, and true customization—not corporate rigidity.
